Elf Flawless Finish Foundation || MagpieMagpie Blog

Hi Lovelies. How are we all? I’ve been doing a lot of baking content on the blog as of late, but this weeks it’s all about the Elf Flawless Finish Foundation. Superdrug is relatively new to the Island, it opened last year and of course over that time I’ve bought quite a bit. After my roaccutane journey I’ve been keen to try out lots of new options. I’ve started the search in the more affordable realm, but I’ll defiantly be trying out some luxes ones too.

What Elf say about this foundation: Our best-selling liquid foundation now in 40 shades! The lightweight, oil-free formula blends naturally into skin for a beautiful semi-matte finish that lasts all day long. The liquid formula helps restores uneven skin textures and tones for visibly brighter skin. Perfect for all skin-types.

The shade range is great! I’m a little pale pink piglet, so it’s very hard for me to find a good colour match. I chose the shade snow. It’s described as, fair with pink undertones, and it’s the perfect shade for me! My skin has gone back to being very oily, but it looks like how it used to oxidise everything has calmed down. The Foundation is as described, lightweight that blends naturally into the skin and gives a semi-matte finish. Due to the fact that my skin is so oily, I need to top up and powder during the day. And the transfer is high, no matter how much I powder. This bothers me, especially since I wear a full face of make-up daily, however the shade match is so good I think I will end up repurchasing.

The price point is great, coming in under £10, the packaging looks smart and it’s glass so it can be recycled, it’s also cruelty free which is a great bonus. The one thing that really bothers me about the foundation is the smell. I find it very offensive, so much so that I don’t enjoy putting it on. I tend to hold my breath.

Above you’ll see a before and after picture. Excuse my bare face in the first image, I was just awake. My skin still breaks out, and I have a lot of pigmentation, so I do like a foundation that will even out my complexion. I’ve applied this foundation with a brush and a sponge. For me the sponge give a better look. I find the foundation gets brush marks in it and doesn’t give a flawless look with my brushes.

This foundation is worth a try, but I’m not sure it’ll be for everyone. If the shade match wasn’t perfect for me, I wouldn’t be repurchasing. Here’s a few of my other foundation post, Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Foundation and L’Oreal Infaillible 24H Fresh Wear Foundation.

Are you fair with pink undertones, with oily skin? What foundation do you use, let me know in the comments below.

Till next week.
